We want your experience with us to feel clear, supportive, and stress-free. Below you’ll find answers to common questions about how virtual reality therapy works, what to expect, and how we can tailor the process to suit you.

Is Virtual Reality therapy safe?

Yes. VR therapy is widely supported by research and allows you to face fears in a controlled environment. We’ll guide you through it safely and at your own pace.

What if I’m not tech-savvy?

No problem — we’ll walk you through how to use the headset and software step-by-step. Most people find it simple and intuitive.

Do I get to keep the headset?

Yes — you’ll receive a smart phone compatible headset that is yours to keep. You will use this throughout treatment and beyond for ongoing practice.

What if I need more time?

Some people benefit from extra sessions. We’re happy to offer additional support if needed — we’ll talk about this toward the end of the core programme.

What if VRET isn’t right for me?

That’s what the initial assessment is for. If this approach isn’t a good fit, we’ll suggest other effective options, including referrals within our wider Illumen practice.

Will I be alone during sessions?

Not at all. A psychologist will support you every step of the way, helping you feel grounded, safe, and confident.

Do I need to come into the clinic?

We offer both in-clinic and at-home options depending on your needs. The initial setup may happen in person, but many continue from home afterward.
